How to be the Coolest Mom in the World

For at least a day.

1. Save a stack of the old records that you used to listen to as a teen.

2. Have a child that likes classic rock and decides to decorate his room with old album covers.

3. Unearth the old albums and pass Journey, Styx, the Eagles, and CCR on to said music lover who now believes that his mom must actually have had a life. Once.

4. Bask in the adoration, for indeed, it will not last.

Did you know that Journey just released a new album?

Yes, I know there is probably no actual album available - but I still use that word!

HA! I am the coolest already! Yay! Casey loves the classic rock WE grew up with, it is about all he listens to and my five year old sings along to “We don’t need no education!” Yippee!!! My kids love Pink Floyd and Genesis and Peter Gabriel and Queen and Elton John and Aerosmith and Supertramp and etc.!!!
Anyway. You made my day. :)

I do wish they liked Shania and Tim McGraw though, but that’s just me.

Take the #1 rating while it lasts, Kris.
We have boxes of old records!! And a 16 yr old who loves the oldies. This is a great idea!

That is SO cool! And yes, enjoy your status while it lasts.
