Solid Advice

I am preparing to be interviewed for a podcast on team building. This makes me nervous. Evan’s advice?

“Just don’t use your business voice.”

I guess my nervous voice sounds very much like a business voice.

If there’s still time . . . talk just *slightly* slower than you normally would. Just a *little bit* clearer and more enunciated.

Helps if you spend a few minutes breathing deliberately before the interview starts.

Eh, podcasts are no sweat. You don’t have to see the audience, so it’s a little like being a DJ; just talk to one person. Also, try not to repeat yourself a lot - it’s good to come full circle, but sometimes it makes you just keep saying the same thing.

Also, please provide a link when it’s finished - I would love to get my hands on it and pass it around to my TMs here. We go to our tournament on Thursday and I feel like I’m about to puke trying to get 16 kids and 11 adults on a plane.

I’ll definitely post a link! For those of you wondering why AkuTyger is ready to puke, it’s because she’s volunteering for an amazing program called Destination Imagination. It only gets puke-worthy at the very, very end though! Why else would team managers continue to come back for more each year??
