100 Books Every Child Should Read

COD posted about this list of 100 books every child should read published by the UK Telegraph. I’ve read about a third of the books listed. A few are on the list of books I will be recommending to my kids. But mostly? Meh. Some of them I didn’t think belonged on the list. Others I’d never heard of (maybe UK only printings?).

What are YOUR must read books for kids?

Well, not bad. We’ve read (or will read!) 5 of the early years’ books. I’d add Dr. Dolittle to that list, at least thinking off the top of my head. On the middle years list, we’ve read 11. Many of the books I’d never heard of–guess we’re missing out on something ;-) Or, as you said, maybe they’re Brit publications. And we’ve read 7 on the early teens list, which I think is pretty good since dd isn’t quite that age yet. Would it count if we read sequels as well, LOL? I’m definitely bookmarking the list to refer to when we’re trying to figure out what to read next ;-)
