It’s been years since I read Raising your Spirited Child. When I ran across a copy the other day, I decided that it might be good to refresh my memory. Six chapters in, I’m very glad that I picked it up again. My child is still spirited.
But, interestingly, I’ve learned so much about my other child from this book that it’s served a dual purpose. With one introverted child and one extraverted child, it’s very helpful to understand how these two different beasts recharge their batteries!
Spirited Children

I read “Kids Are Worth It” year ago and really liked it. Having the kids nearby does seem to make it easier to address some of the issues they have, I think. You can see more consistenly just what is going on, without having to guess at the parts of the day when you aren’t there.

I have had that book for years, but I haven’t read it (the story of my life!). Guess it is time to pick it up again.
I’m currently reading (by way of recommendation) “Kids Are Worth It” by Coloroso (http://tinyurl.com/v7xwq). So far, I’m very pleased. It follows right along with all the Faber and Kohn stuff I love.
You know what is weird (and perhaps a cool prompt for my next (or some future)) blog post?? I think I have more influence over my children by way of these books now that I have them home with me. Am I nuts? It has only been 5 weeks. In the past I felt at a loss to “fix” their worlds and mine because schools and peers took up so much of their time. I have renewed hope now that I can help them become functional and happy humans.
Thanks for the book reminder!
